Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev showed the middle finger to the spectators in the stands after losing to Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov at the Masters series tournament in Paris.
Medvedev lost in the second round match with a score of 3:6, 7:6 (7:4), 6:7 (2:7) and ended his participation in the tournament.
In the second set, the Russian refused to serve until the fans stopped whistling at him. Leaving the court, Medvedev showed the middle finger to the stands several times.
– Middle finger? No, no, I just looked at the nail. Why should I do this to a wonderful audience in Paris? I have many friends from France. But when there are no spectators here, I play better. The only time I won, there were no spectators,” Medvedev quotes L’Equipe.
Dimitrov’s opponent in the next round will be Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan.
