Vice-President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RFF) Alexey Selivanenko did not call Russian Daniil Medvedev’s elimination in the second round of the Masters series tournament in Paris sensational.
Medvedev lost to Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov with a score of 3:6, 7:6 (7:4), 6:7 (2:7) and ended his performance in the tournament.
— First of all, we must note the play of Grigor, who has gained momentum and is showing his best tennis in many recent seasons. This year he already has victories over six top ten players. Therefore, I would not talk about today’s result as something super sensational. There was a beautiful game with two tiebreakers, in which Grigor ended up being stronger. As for the time after the final of Daniil and Jannik Sinner (in Vienna), at this level everyone is accustomed to a busy schedule and this in itself is unlikely to be the main factor in the result, Vprognoze.ru quotes Selivanenko.
Dimitrov’s opponent in the next round will be Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan.
