The ex-girlfriend of Alexander Zverev spoke about violence from the German tennis player.

German tennis player Alexander Zverev was fined 450 thousand euros in the case of causing physical harm to his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea, Bild reports. According to the source, the Berlin District Court imposed a fine on the 26-year-old athlete in the amount of 90 daily payments of 5 thousand euros each. Zverev’s lawyers have already stated that the Olympic champion denies the charges and has filed an appeal against the fine.

Previously, Patea, with whom Zverev shares a daughter, Maila, accused him of causing bodily harm during an argument in May 2020.

“I was silent when I could have shouted.” A mixture of shame and fear of Zverev’s lawyers and concern for the child, Patea explained in an interview with Sueddeutsche her reluctance to raise the topic of violence earlier.

Zverev is an Olympic champion in singles. The tennis player has faced accusations of domestic violence in the past, when another ex-girlfriend, Olga Sharipova, made a similar statement in November 2020. The German tennis player is currently dating model and actress Sofia Thomalla.
