Stefanos Tsitsipas’ win over Alexander Zverev was his first against a top 10 opponent in almost a year.

On Friday afternoon, Stefanos Tsitsipas will face Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters.

To get there, it took a big win against Alexander Zverev. The win against the German ended the long negative streak that the 24-year-old Greek had had since last year.

Specifically from November 17, 2022, when Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Daniil Medvedev in the ATP Finals. This was his last win against a top 10 opponent.

Stefanos Tsitsipas then suffered seven consecutive defeats against top ten players, including the Australian Open final against Novak Djokovic.

As you can see, Tsitsipas lost twice to Nole, Alkarath and Medvedev and once to Fritz during this time.

What was even worse for him was that he had not managed to win a single set in these seven games, which is not his level.

Overall, Stefanos gave Tsitsipas his career 80 games against athletes who were in the top 10 at the time and counts 46 defeats and 34 victories.
