Having secured his qualification for the ATP Finals, Stefanos Tsitsipas was 100% unleashed and showed this in the most impressive way against Karen Khachanov on Friday afternoon (March 11).

The Russian tennis player, ranked No. 15 in the world, was equally motivated to chase wins to break into the top ten in the world rankings, but at no point did the Greek champion let him believe that he could challenge him even with a match appearance continued with 6:3, 6:4 and reached the semi-finals of the Paris Masters.

They made it into the top four of the French tournament for the second time in a row, with Tsitsipas now just around the corner Grigor Dimitrov (retired Hubert Hurkacs) for a place in the final.

The match

In the first three games of the first set, the two athletes held serve, but in the fourth set Stefanos Tsitsipas broke, which was enough to give him the lead, while the Greek champion then played with absolute calm and concentration and did not allow himself to be threatened his Russian opponent to close out the first set with a 6-3 win in 40 minutes.

In the second, the script was written differently and more impressive: Stefanos won the first two games without losing a point, but Khachanov didn’t throw in a white towel and fought back by winning three games in a row that put him in the lead by a point down 4 – 3.

But even then the Greek champions didn’t lose their composure as they heated up the next three games, prevailing 6-4 in the second set and securing a place in the semi-finals with a 7-4 total with 10 more winners and 4 less with ease. Mistakes compared to his opponent.

It is worth noting that this was the 300th victory of Tsitsipas’s career on the ATP Tour, which caught the breath of Khachanov, considering that he beat him in five matches in the Masters frame in total seven wins in eight fights between them.
