Honored coach of Russia Vladimir Kamelzon believes that Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev is capable of defeating Serbia Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the Masters series tournament in Paris.
On Saturday, the Russian, who received the fifth seed, beat Australian Alex de Minaur in the quarterfinals with a score of 4:6, 6:3, 6:1.
– Rublev can defeat Djokovic only through great attention to each point. He should not be distracted by his psychological breakdowns. I don’t think that Rublev will have more fans there, so he will have to control himself. Rublev has a strong shot and a serve. The game may turn out to be equal. I would like Rublev, if he loses, to lose in a serious fight. But I believe that Rublev can win in such a match. “I’ll root for him,” the Championship quotes Kamelzon.
Previously, Djokovic and Rublev met five times: the Serb won four victories, the Russian – one.
The rivals’ game at the Masters will take place on Saturday, November 4, the start of the meeting is tentatively scheduled for 19:00 Moscow time.
