On November 5, the final match took place at the ATP 1000 tournament in Paris (France).

In the championship match, world number one Novak Djokovic (Serbia) defeated number 17 in the ATP rankings Grigor Dimitrova (Bulgaria).

After the match ended, Dimitrov started crying, Djokovic came to console him.

“Emotions are hard to explain. You want to get the title, but it’s very difficult when that doesn’t happen. Only I know, without sparing myself, what I have been through on and off the field in recent months. These are tears of happiness. I don’t want to remember these as something negative. After all, I am human too. I’m so close to getting what I’ve wanted for a long time. My goal was not to win the tournament, but to prepare mentally and physically. I’m not ashamed of crying, it just happened.

Of course I’m sorry I lost. “Losing in the final is never fun,” Dimitrov said in the post-match press conference.
