NAVRATILOVA: “It is time for new leadership in the WTA. “I need a woman”

WTA chief Steve Simon was twice asked to be interviewed regarding the disastrous conditions in Cancun during the WTA Finals, but declined.

Number one in the old world Martina Navratilova believes it is time for new leadership:

“Maybe it’s time for new leadership. But for me personally, because it’s a women’s organization and I’ve been in it for so long, there were only three women in charge from the very beginning. I think it’s time. I hope when we have a new leader it will be a woman. There are quite a few of them and they are suitable for the job. It will be difficult for Steve to remain in this position. Everything points in the other direction.
