Three ATP tournaments to be upgraded from 2025
From 2025, ATP Tour events in Dallas, Doha and Munich will receive ATP 500 status as part of a reform aimed at strengthening the tennis calendar. The total number of ATP 500 events will increase from 13 to 16.
GF Sports & Entertainment’s bid to modernize the Dallas Open includes a move to a new venue, which will be announced shortly. The city has extensive experience hosting major sporting events, including the All-Star Game and the Super Bowl, and will also host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Qatar ExxonMobil Open (Doha) is a five-time winner of the ATP 250 Player of the Year Tournament, renowned for its world-class standards and attracts one of the strongest squads of players in its category.
BMW Open (Munich) will undergo a full-scale renovation as part of modernization plans.
In total, these three tournaments will provide players with approximately $51.7 million in additional prize money over five years.
As part of this process, ATP 250 tournaments in Atlanta, Lyon and Newport will be stopped from 2025. The full 2025 ATP Tour calendar will be announced in the coming months.
