The second team to advance to the semi-finals of the Billie Jean King Cup has been announced
Canada national tennis team Reached the semi-finals of the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup.
The Canadians won both matches in Group C.
In the first round, the Canadian team beat the Spanish team 3-0.
In the 2nd round of Quartet C, Canada defeated Poland. Marina Stakusic defeated Magdalena French (4:6, 7:5, 6:3), Leila Fernandez defeated Magda Linette (6:2, 6:3) and Eugenie Bouchard / Gabriela Dabrowski duo Weronika Falkowska and Katarzyna surpassed Kava 6:2, 6:3.
The Canadians’ opponents in the KBDK play-offs will be determined in the Czech Republic-USA match in the last round of Group D.
Note that the Canadian team reached the playoffs in the women’s team tournament for the first time since 1988 and the second time in history.
The Italian team became the first team to reach the semi-finals in KBDK 2023.
