Czech Republic debacle. 2023 Billie Jean King Cup finalists announced
The semi-final matches of the Billie Jean King Cup 2023 final section were played on November 11.
Italy national team Confidently beat the Slovenian team 2:0. The Italians decided everything in singles. Martin Trevisan beat Kaya Juvan with 7:6 (8:6), 6:3, while Jasmine Paolini was stronger than Tamara Zidansek with 6:2, 4:6, 6:3.
In the second semi-final match Canada Won the Czech Republic 2:1, but the Czechs were considered favorites before the start of the match.
Everything was decided in the doubles match. In singles, Barbora Krejcikova defeated Marina Stakusin with scores of 6:2, 6:1 and Leila Fernandez brought back the excitement by defeating Marketa Vondrousova with scores of 6:2, 2:6, 6:2.
In doubles, Gabriela Davrovski and Leila Fernandez sensationally defeated the Czech Republic’s best duo, Barbora Krejcikova / Katerina Siniakova, 7:5, 7:6 (7:3).
