Leila is beyond competitive. Canada wins Billie Jean King Cup for first time
On November 12, the final match of the Billie Jean King Cup took place on closed hard courts in Seville (Spain), where the Canadian team defeated the Italian team.

Note that the Canadians beat Spain (3:0) and Poland (3:0) in the group round, and defeated the top team from the Czech Republic (2:1) in the semi-finals. Leyla Fernandez won 4 of 4 singles matches, and 18-year-old Marina Stakusic won 3 of 4 matches.
For Canada, this was the first championship in history (previously the tournament was called the Fed Cup). Last year, representatives of this North American country won the Davis Cup for the first time.
