Former world number nine in singles, winner of seven ATP titles, Andrei Chesnokov admitted that he does not want to watch the match between Russians Daniil Medvedev and Andrei Rublev at the ATP Final Tournament.

Rublev and Medvedev are in the same group, where their rivals will also be Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and German representative Alexander Zverev.

— I don’t want to watch matches in which Russian tennis players play with each other. I prefer that they compete with someone else. Otherwise it turns out that one Russian will beat out another Russian. And I feel very sorry and offended. Besides, I don’t know who to root for,” Vprognoze.ru quotes Chesnokov as saying.

The 2023 ATP Finals will be held in Turin from November 12 to 19. The winner could earn more than $4.8 million. Last year, Serbian Novak Djokovic became the champion of the tournament.
