The 36-year-old Serbian, who beat Dane Holger Rune on Sunday on the first day played in Turin, will end the season on the world throne for the eighth time in his career, a new record. He did the same in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2021.
“Djoko” is also assured thanks to this success of becoming the first player in history to reach the symbolic figure of 400 weeks spent at the top of the ATP ranking.
Whatever the outcome of the last tournament of the season, the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz can no longer catch up in terms of accounting.
