“It’s very difficult to implement this now.” Svitolina shared her plans
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina admitted that she wants to return to her native Ukraine and has done a lot for this.
“The war continues, but love for people, for children, for Ukraine is always vital for me. I dream of returning home to stay here longer. But I don’t have much time because I travel a lot, attend tournaments every week, talk about Ukraine with foreigners. When I return home, there are always very warm feelings and very warm meetings. I communicate a lot, meet new people, play tennis at home; These are really important to me. However, unfortunately, it is now very difficult to implement this.
For me, returning home, being here in Ukraine, is a true manifestation of love. This is very important and I will do it when I have time.
Before [я] I came to Odessa in February, there were power outages at that time. I was very sad when I saw this because the city has changed and is falling apart. I have known Odessa since my childhood, when it was a real city of humor. I have very pleasant memories. Now it is extremely sad to see Odessa like this. But despite the attacks, people retain their innate positivity,” Svitolina said.
