President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishchev explained with emotion the behavior of Russian Andrei Rublev in the ATP Final Tournament match with compatriot Daniil Medvedev.
Rublev lost to Medvedev with a score of 4:6, 2:6. During the first set, a fan from the stands shouted to Rublev: “Pull yourself together.” The athlete turned around and replied: “Go to hell.”
— These are Andrey’s emotions. He just didn’t know how to compose himself during the match. It is enough to pay attention to how often Rublev made unforced errors. And there was no way to take Daniil’s serve. Medvedev played much more wisely,” the Match TV website quotes Tarpishchev.
The 2023 ATP Finals tournament takes place in Turin from November 12 to 19. The winner could earn more than $4.8 million.
