ATP Finals 2023. hard inside
Novak Djokovic (Serbia) – Jannik Sinner (Italy) – 5:7, 7:6 (7:5), 6:7 (2:7)
This was the 5th meeting of tennis players. The Sinner beat the Serb for the first time.
Novak and Yannick play in the same group with Holger Rune and Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek tennis player had previously withdrawn from the match with the Danish tennis player, and now his place in the tournament will be taken by Hubert Hurkacz. In the last 3rd round of the group stage, it will be Hurkacz who will play against Novak, and Yannick will face Rune.
Now Sinner is in first place in the foursome. The Italian player has 2 wins in 2 possible matches. In the 1st round, Yannick edged Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Although Sinner has the best chance of all participants in the Green Group, he has so far failed to guarantee himself a place in the ATP Final Tournament 2023 play-offs. If the Italian team loses to Holger in the last round and wins against Novak Hubert, Sinner, Djokovic and Rune will have the same number of wins and the percentage of sets/game won will be calculated.
Remember that before his fight with Sinner, Djokovic was on an incredible 19-match winning streak.
