Djokovic lost to Sinner in ATP Finals match

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic lost to Italian Jannik Sinner in the group round match of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Final Tournament.

The meeting lasted just over 3 hours and ended with the score 7:5, 6:7 (5:7), 7:6 (7:2) in favor of Sinner. Djokovic had 20 aces and 1 double fault, Sinner made 15 aces and made 2 double faults.

Sinner beat Djokovic for the first time in his career; the Italian and Serbian played four matches against each other. Sinner ended Djokovic’s 19-match winning streak, the last time the Serbian lost to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final in July 2023.

Djokovic and Sinner are in the Green Group of the Final Tournament. In the final match of the group stage of the tournament, Djokovic will meet with Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz, and Sinner will meet with Norway’s Holger Rune.

The 2023 ATP Finals tournament takes place in Turin from November 12 to 19. The Red Group features Russians Andrei Rublev and Daniil Medvedev. The winner could earn more than $4.8 million. Last year Djokovic became the champion of the tournament.
