Two-time winner of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments in mixed doubles, Andrei Olkhovsky, noted that Andrei Rublev’s participation in the final ATP tournament of the 2023 season is already an achievement.
On Wednesday, the fifth racket of the world Rublev with a score of 5:7, 2:6 lost to the second number of the world ranking, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, in the group stage match of the final ATP tournament in Turin and lost his chances of reaching the playoffs.
– By and large, Rublev lost to one of the best – (Daniil) Medvedev and Alcaraz. I won’t say that this is something unsuccessful. It’s great that Andrey got to this tournament. Yes, he lost today, but Alcaraz played very confidently. This is a different Alcaraz, not even the one that played in the first match. In my opinion, today he played more confidently and calmly,” Olkhovsky was quoted as saying by the Championship.
