Former world number one, Swiss Roger Federer, could not hold back his tears at the concert of the famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli in Zurich, reports Tennis.com.

The concert took place on Monday at the Hallenstadion stadium. At the end of the performance, Bocelli announced that a “living legend” was present in the hall that evening and invited Federer to the stage.

“It’s an honor for me to dedicate the last aria to him.” For the emotions that he gave to everyone,” Bocelli said.

The tenor performed the aria Nessun Dorma from Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot. During the performance, the 42-year-old athlete became emotional and cried.

In September 2022, Federer announced his retirement from sports. He won 20 Grand Slam titles, a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in doubles and a silver at the 2012 London Games in singles.
