The first team to advance to the 2023 Davis Cup final has been announced
The first semi-final match of the Davis Cup 2023 final section, played indoors on hard ground in Malaga (Spain), took place on November 24.
The Australian team beat the Finnish team as expected. The fate of the match was decided in two singles matches.
In the first match, Alexey Popyrin defeated Otto Virtanen in straight sets.
In the second, Australian demon Alex De Minaur easily dealt with Emil Ruusuvuori, also in two games.
Thanks to this victory, the Australians reached the final of the team tournament. Australia will play with the winner of the Italy-Serbia match for the cup.
Australia also played in the Davis Cup final last season. He later won the Canadian championship.
The Australians will be competing for their 23rd team title and their first since 2003.
