19-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Lazarenko (WTA 945) reached the final of a professional tournament for the first time.

This week, the Ukrainian athlete managed to win 4 matches in the challenging ITF W15 series tournament held in Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt). However, Lazarenka withdrew from her cup match against Briana Szabo (Romania, WTA 992).

In a special comment for Spor.ua Lazarenko explained why he decided not to play in the final match:

“I got sick and injured… Just yesterday [поединок против россиянки Алисы Кюммель (4:6, 6:2, 6:2) – прим.] “I played in severe pain,” said Katerina.

Won the men’s singles cup in Sharm el-Sheikh Vadim Ursu (ATP 619) defeated neutral Evgeniy Filippov (ATP 653) in the final. For Ursu, this is the second consecutive title, the third this season and the fourth in his career.
