The sinner defeated the devil. Italy beat Australia to win Davis Cup
The final match of the 2023 Davis Cup final, played on closed hard ground in Malaga (Spain), took place on November 26.
The Italian team beat Australia in the cup match. Everything was decided in two single matches.
In the first match, Matteo Arnaldi defeated Alexei Popyrin in three games.
In the second one, the leaders of the national teams met: Alex de Minaur and Jannik Sinner. Yannick crushed the Australian demon in straight sets.
Italians became Davis Cup champions for the second time. They won their first trophy in 1976. They have lost four finals since then.
