Vice-President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RFF) Alexey Selivanenko said that the number of Russians in the top 100 rankings of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) indicates the depth of the national team.
The top 100 ATP rankings this season include Daniil Medvedev (3rd place), Andrey Rublev (5th), Karen Khachanov (15th), Aslan Karatsev (35th), Roman Safiullin (39th), Alexander Shevchenko (49th) and Pavel Kotov ( 66).
— The number of Russian tennis players in the top 100 of the world rankings indicates the depth of the roster. They, of course, compete with each other, just like with everyone else.
Roman Safiullin and Pavel Kotov were not previously known to the general public. I would celebrate their breakthrough. But by naming one person, you forget the rest. I wouldn’t single out anyone,” Metaratings.ru quotes Selivanenko as saying.
