Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev said that after playing with compatriot Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals of the US Open, his game went up.
The match took place on September 6, Medvedev won that game with a score of 6:4, 6:3, 6:4.
— After the match with Danya Medvedev at the US Open, my game improved. If we take the period until the end of the year, not counting Turin, I have never played so well in my life. I was able to consistently show a high level, and not as before – I would give one good match, and then not so much. Such a long period has never happened before,” the Championship quotes Rublev as saying.
Medvedev reached the final of the US Open, in which he lost to the world’s first racket to Serbian Novak Djokovic in three sets (3:6, 6:7 (5:7), 3:6).
Rublev finished fifth in the world rankings at the end of the 2023 season.
