American tennis player Jessica Pegula He commented on his inclusion in Forbes’ “30 under 30” ranking, which lists the 30 most successful US figures under 30.

“I don’t think anyone can replace Serena. It definitely helps to have other prominent Americans because I can’t imagine being the only American. There’s a lot of pressure on people like Coco Goff because they’re seen as the next Serena or Venus. I don’t think I should play that role.”

It’s nice to be able to say, “I’ve won so many matches on hard court, nothing like this has happened since Serena.” Little statistics like these are powerful. I can do this with Coco, who I have a 10-year difference with, and we see these statistics… “No two American women have made it to the semifinals in singles or doubles since Serena and Venus.” It’s really nice and I don’t think I ever expected to see it. But I was pleased to see that the statistics matched my name.

I will definitely not break the record for most Grand Slams won (laughs). But it’s nice to be mentioned on this list. “Especially in American tennis,” said Pegula, who finished the year in the top 5 in the world rankings.

Jessica Pegula earned $5,967,890 in prize money this season.
