Marta KOSTYUK: “Some of my coaches were very angry after my defeats”
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk He talked about how his coaches reacted to his failures.
“I’ve had coaches who got very angry after my defeats, but that’s complete nonsense, because how can you be angry because your player lost, you’re not the one on the field? Like, ‘What the hell is this?’ You can support or leave. But they were angry, so they didn’t talk and then one day they said, ‘What’s wrong with my life?’ We started talking about what I was doing, and I sat there thinking, “Wow. Just keep going.”
But as he grew older, I don’t think he could say many things to me that would hurt me after my loss. I went out to fight, I fought, something didn’t work out, I’m going back to work. “This is not the last match in my life,” Kostyuk said.
Note that Marta is currently training with former Polish tennis player Sandra Zanevska.
