“There was no doubt that we would combine business with pleasure” – Potapova about registering her marriage with Shevchenko

Tennis player Anastasia Potapova spoke about her wedding ceremony with Alexander Shevchenko, which took place in St. Petersburg.

The ceremony took place on Friday at the Wedding Palace No. 1 on the Promenade des Anglais.

— The wedding was relatively timed to coincide with the tournament. We wouldn’t just come to St. Petersburg now – we don’t live in Russia yet because of the tour. And even if it were for painting, then, most likely, they would have signed it in Moscow – because I live there. But since we knew that we were going to St. Petersburg, there was no doubt that we would combine business with pleasure – we would sign up for St. Petersburg and play a home tournament.

When is the wedding? We are both playing in Brisbane and Adelaide in 2024. We have a wedding in three days – we are celebrating in another country. Then we fly to Dubai, we’ll have a little rest before the Australian Open,” Potapova is quoted as saying by “Championship.”

Shevchenko and Potapova will take part in the Northern Palmyra Trophies International Tournament, which will be held on December 1–3 in St. Petersburg.

Shevchenko is 23 years old and ranks 49th in the ATP rankings. 22-year-old Potapova is 28th in the WTA rankings.
