Tennis player Potapova told what name she will play under after her wedding to Shevchenko
Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova spoke about changing her last name after her wedding to Alexander Shevchenko.
Potapova and Shevchenko got married on Friday in St. Petersburg. The athletes published photos from the wedding on their social media accounts. The ceremony took place at the Wedding Palace No. 1 on the Promenade des Anglais.
– Under whose name will I play? I decided to keep my last name on the court and play under the last name of Potapov, but in life I change my last name. Here you can announce “Mr.” and “Mrs.” Shevchenko. No one was offended, and it will be great,” Championship quotes Potapova.
Potapova is 22 years old and ranks 28th in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. 23-year-old Shevchenko is 49th in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings.
