“They are giants, icons of the game and I have been lucky enough to play against each of them 40-50 times. I have many memories of many great matches and real battles. I’ve answered questions about them many times and have nothing but good things to say. So it was great to share the field with them for so many years.
I hope Rafa Nadal comes back very strong next year. And I hope Novak Djokovic can continue to play as much as he wants because it’s good for the game that these guys are still in the game,” Federer said.
Note that Nadal announced that he will retire in 2024.
