Chris Evert was diagnosed with cancer again

With her statement, Chris Evert made it known that she had been diagnosed with cancer again and was starting a new cycle of chemotherapy.

Living legend of women’s tennis, American Chris Evert, who won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and is undergoing treatment.

Evert, 68, announced in January 2022 that she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, while her younger sister Jane Evert Dubin died of the same disease in February 2020 at the age of 62.

Evert explained that she had resigned from her job as an ESPN commentator due to the relapse and would not be able to attend the Australian Open with her colleagues in Melbourne next month. However, she made it clear that she would be “ready for the rest of the Grand Slam tournaments this season.”

“Since I was diagnosed with cancer two years ago, I have been very open about my entire experience. I wanted to give everyone an update. My cancer is back. Even though it’s a diagnosis you never want to hear, I feel blessed that it happened early. .

Based on a PET/CT scan, I had another robotic procedure last week. Doctors found cancer cells in the pelvic cavity. All cells were removed and I started a new course of chemotherapy.

I won’t be able to work when ESPN returns to Melbourne for the Australian Open next month. But I will be ready for the remaining Grand Slams of the season! I encourage you all to look up your family’s history to protect yourself. A quick diagnosis can save lives. Be grateful for your health this holiday season.
