Number one in the old world Naomi Osaka She talked about a difficult birth.

The day Osaka’s water broke, she rushed to the hospital. Concerned about an infection in his body, doctors immediately gave him IV antibiotics. After 12 hours, the uterus had expanded by only one centimeter. The doctor prescribed Pitocin, which causes the uterus to contract. Osaka had a bad reaction and started feeling sick.

Hours passed as Osaka struggled to breathe and focus on the birth of her daughter, saying to herself: “No matter what happens, it will happen. It’s not something I can control.” She read many books on parenting and birth, but the barrage of advice was overwhelming. She took classes to prepare for birth. But none of them fully prepared her.

At one point during the contractions, doctors told Osaka that she needed to push her baby out quickly. “I remember feeling at that moment: ‘This is the worst pain of my life,'” Osaka says. “And I know that if I get through this, everything else will be so easy.” Osaka later learned that the umbilical cord was wrapped around her daughter’s neck.

Osaka gave birth to a healthy baby girl at the beginning of July. She and her rapper boyfriend Cordae, 26, named their baby Shai, which means “gift” in Hebrew. Osaka says there was a “huge adjustment period” in the beginning. “Life changed in one day. “Everything changes from the moment you come home from the hospital.”

Note that Naomi has not played on the WTA tour since 2022. His return will take place in Brisbane early next year.
