2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu He said he hoped to represent Canada at next year’s Paris Olympics but has ruled out competing at next month’s Australian Open because he is recovering from a back injury.

“We note that Andreescu is out of action due to a stress fracture in her back and has not played since losing to Italian Camila Giorgi in her opening match at the Canadian Open in August.

Unfortunately I won’t be at the Australian Open. Right now I’m thinking (I’ll come back) after the Australian Open or the US Tour, so Indian Wells… maybe.

I came very close to returning, but I’m still dealing with a back injury at the moment. I’m getting better every day and I’m doing everything I can to get better as quickly as possible, but it all takes time.

I look forward to 2024 with great confidence.

I really missed the game and watching the girls win the Billie Jean Cup… I wish I could have been there. Injuries suck.

I will have to work hard to qualify for the Olympics in Paris next year, but I have always wanted to play in this tournament, so I hope this will be enough motivation to win as much as possible.

It’s too bad I went through so much trauma,” Andreescu said.
