Tsurenko is determined to return to the Ukrainian national team and play in the Olympics
Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko responded to the information that she will manage the Ukrainian team at the Elina Svitolina Foundation’s Billie Jean King tournament in the next 4 years.
“I knew about this decision some time before the official announcement and I am very positive about it. This is something very new and fresh for Ukrainian tennis and the women’s team. I think this will give a significant boost to development.”
“Will we see Lesya Tsurenko in the national team now? I guess we’ll see (laughs). Of course, I would be very happy if I was invited to the national team next year. “I will be very happy to take part in the Billie Jean King Cup matches and be part of the team and play in the Paris Olympics in the future.”
“Of course, we understand that there are still nuances regarding the Olympics, but if our team participates in the games, I plan to perform there,” Tsurenko said.
The tennis player has not played for the national team since 2020.
