The first racket of the world among juniors, Russian Alina Korneeva, named the most important victory and the most offensive defeat in the past season.
– If you look at the victories, then, of course, this is the Australian Open – it was very joyful. The losses were all disappointing, and after each one I was upset. For example, the loss to Petra Marcinko in September at W60 in Portugal, when I had set points when I was leading. This was probably the most offensive thing. But the most important thing is that the year ended well, with good results. In the final of the junior Australian Open in 2023, Korneeva beat compatriot Mirra Andreeva – 6:7 (2:7), 6:4, 7:5.
