Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, paired with compatriot Mark Lopez, failed to reach the second round of the ATP 250 tournament in Brisbane in doubles.

Nadal and Lopez, who received a special invitation to compete at the competition, were defeated by Australians Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson with a score of 4:6, 4:6. The opponents spent 1 hour and 13 minutes on the court.

This game was the first for the 37-year-old Spaniard since January 16, 2023. Nadal missed almost the entire last season due to injury. In singles at the Brisbane tournament, Nadal will play against Austrian Dominic Thiem.
