Russian tennis player Elina Avanesyan reached the second round of the WTA 250 tournament in Auckland, New Zealand.
In the first round, Avanesyan beat New Zealand’s Monique Barry with a score of 7:6 (8:6), 6:2. The athletes spent 1 hour and 34 minutes on the court. In the second round, Avanesyan will play Emma Navarro (4th seed) from the USA.
Another Russian, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, was unable to overcome the starting circle, losing to the American Amanda Anisimova – 5:7, 4:6.
