Four Russian tennis players reached the third round of the WTA tournament in Brisbane.
In the second round, Daria Kasatkina beat the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk in two sets (6:3, 6:4), Veronika Kudermetova was stronger than the Slovak athlete Anna-Karolina Shmidlova (6:2, 6:3), Anastasia Potapova defeated the Australian Daria Saville (6:4, 3:6, 6:4), and Mirra Andreeva defeated her compatriot Lyudmila Samsonova (6:2, 6:1).
In the third round, Potapova will play with Kudermetova, Andreeva will meet with Arina Rodionova (Australia), and Kasatkina’s opponent will be determined later in the match Magda Linette (Poland) – Kristina Bucha (Spain).
Ekaterina Alexandrova lost to Julia Riera from Argentina (3:6, 4:6) and ended her fight in the tournament.
