Russian tennis player Andrei Olkhovsky said that Daniil Medvedev defeated Pole Hubert Hurkacz because of psychological confidence.

The Russian won the quarterfinals of the Australian Open with a score of 7:6 (7:4), 2:6, 6:3, 5:7, 6:4.

— An ambiguous match. There were good pranks and not so good ones. It’s good that the result is in Daniel’s favor. In my opinion, psychological confidence played a big role in this match. Today was not easy precisely because of the small disruptions that occur at this tournament. There was one clean match when Danya won easily. All other matches were not very even – the same thing here. I can’t connect this with anything.

I think that Medvedev is a great guy. The Australian Open semi-final is amazing. The main thing is that at the decisive moments he gets together and plays the way we are used to seeing,” Olkhovsky is quoted as saying by the Championship.
