Ostapenko and Kichenok lost in the final of the Australian Open in doubles

Belgian tennis player Elise Mertens and Taiwan’s Xie Shuwei won the Australian Open doubles final.
In the decisive match, Shuwei and Mertens, who received the second seed, beat Latvian Elena Ostapenko and Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok (11th seed) with a score of 6:1, 7:5. The meeting lasted 1 hour 33 minutes.
Shuwei became a seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion, Mertens a four-time winner. In total, 38-year-old Shuwei has 32 victories at WTA doubles tournaments, and the 28-year-old Belgian has 18 titles.
