Andrey Rublev dropped to sixth place in the ATP rankings

Russian Andrei Rublev dropped to sixth place in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings, an updated version of which was published on the organization’s website on Monday, March 18.
At the final tournament in Indian Wells, Rublev was unable to advance beyond the third round, losing to Czech tennis player Jiri Legechka. The Russian was surpassed in the updated ATP ranking by the representative of Germany, Alexander Zverev, who is now fifth.
Serbian Novak Djokovic takes first place in the ranking, followed by the winner of the Indian Wells tournament, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. Jannik Sinner, representing Italy, is in third place.
The best among Russians remains Daniil Medvedev, who ranks fourth in the ranking. Karen Khachanov dropped to 16th place, Roman Safiullin rose from 42nd place to 39th. Aslan Karatsev also added three positions and is now in 41st place, Pavel Kotov remained in 67th place.

Australian amateur tennis player Jordan Smith won an exhibition tournament with a prize fund of 1 million Australian dollars (about 668 thousand dollars) before the start of the Australian Open.
According to the 1 Point Slam tournament format, an athlete only needed to score one point to win each match and advance to the next round.
During the tournament, Smith beat Pablo Carreno Busta, Jannik Sinner, Amanda Anisimova and Pedro Martinez. In the final, he defeated world number 117 Joanna Garland.
