Two-time winner of Grand Slam tournaments in mixed doubles Andrei Olkhovsky said that Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov showed a good result at the Masters tournament in Monte Carlo.
Khachanov reached the quarter finals of the tournament, where he lost to the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in two sets. At the previous stage, the 27-year-old Russian beat his compatriot Daniil Medvedev.
— Tsitsipas is another opponent for Khachanov. A different game, a different tactic than with Medvedev. Karen won against Daniil, this is a good result. The quarterfinal match with Tsitsipas was difficult. The Greek spins the ball and plays with a flourish. Ground is a more convenient surface for Tsitsipas than for Medvedev.
In any case, Karen reached the quarterfinals of the Masters and showed good results and tennis. Yes, I lost to Tsitsipas, one of the strongest players over the past few years. But there is nothing shameful in this defeat. For Karen, this is a successful tournament,” Olkhovsky is quoted as saying by the Championship.
