Tennis player Djokovic spoke about how he felt after being hit in the head with a bottle

Serbian world number one Novak Djokovic spoke about his health after being hit in the head by a bottle at the Masters tournament in Rome.

The episode occurred on Friday after the Serbian defeated Frenchman Corentent Moutet in the second round with a score of 6:3, 6:1. Djokovic was signing autographs for fans when a bottle hit him in the head from the stands. After the blow, the Serb grabbed his head and fell to his knees.

– Thank you for your concern. It was an accident, now I am calmly resting in a hotel with an ice pack. See you on Sunday,” Djokovic wrote on his social media page.

A video of the incident appeared on social networks. The footage shows how a bottle accidentally fell on the Serbian’s head from the backpack of a man who leaned down from the first row of the podium for an autograph. Earlier, another video circulated where it was not clear where the bottle was flying from – the media concluded that one of the spectators threw it on purpose. The organizers of the Masters in Rome said that the bottle hit the Serbian’s head unintentionally.

In the third round of the tournament, Djokovic will meet Chilean Alejandro Tabilo (29th seed).
