Vice-President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RFF) Alexey Selivanenko shared his expectations from the final match of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome between Poland’s Iga Szwiatek and Arina Sabalenko from Belarus.
— When two leaders play, you always expect an uncompromising game. Both Iga and Arina are currently leaders on the tour, so their games are always interesting to watch. In every match you can see something new.
Arina plays very interestingly in Rome, adding some new elements to her usual style – the same shortened strikes that she did not use so often before. She began to play more diversely, compared to her usual style. These new elements in the game showed everyone that Sabalenka, in addition to his power, can play very well on the feel of the ball. It will be interesting to see how permanent this element will be for her,” Vprognoze.ru quotes Selivanenko as saying.
The women’s final in Rome will take place on Saturday and start at 18:00.
