Russian Mirra Andreeva rose to the top 25 of the WTA rankings for the first time

Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva moved to 23rd place in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking, an updated version of which was published on the organization’s website.

Andreeva, who was ranked 38th, moved up 15 places thanks to her run to the semi-finals of the French Open, where she lost to Italy’s Yasmine Paolini.

The winner of Roland Garros, Polish woman Iga Szwiatek, still tops the ranking. Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka dropped to third place, and American Cori Gauff became the second racket of the world.

The Italian Jannik Sinner became the number one player in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings for the first time in his career. The tennis player rose to the top spot after the withdrawal of Serbian Novak Djokovic from the tournament.

Alcaraz, who won the Grand Slam tournament in the French capital, rose to second place, Djokovic moved to third position.

Russians Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev retained fifth and sixth places, respectively.
