The IOC spoke about checking the suitability of Russian tennis players for admission to the 2024 Olympic Games
International Olympic Committee (IOC) spokesman Mark Adams said the organization has not yet completed the process of verifying the eligibility of Russian tennis players for admission to the Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
— Information has appeared that tennis players from Russia and Belarus were allowed to participate in the Games in Paris. Can you confirm this information?
“No, we have not confirmed this yet. The process of checking Russian and Belarusian tennis players to obtain neutral status is ongoing. I think we will make a statement on this topic soon. It will take a few more days,” the Match TV website quotes Adams as saying.
On Thursday, the President of the Russian Tennis Federation, Shamil Tarpishchev, told Match TV that the International Tennis Federation (ITF) has admitted all domestic tennis players from the expanded application to the 2024 Games; they will be allowed to compete not only in singles, but also in pairs/mixed doubles. The Russian side must send the final list to the ITF by June 19.
The strongest Russians from the men’s rankings may compete at the Games: Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Karen Khachanov, Roman Safiullin, from the women’s rankings: Daria Kasatkina, Lyudmila Samsonova, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Mirra Andreeva, as well as 39-year-old Vera Zvonareva, who is in the top 10 of the WTA rankings in doubles. However, if they refuse, athletes who are lower in the ATP and WTA rankings will go to the competition.
According to Match TV, Zvonareva/Andreeva and Khachanov/Rublev can perform in doubles, and Elena Vesnina, Anna Kalinskaya and Veronika Kudermetova are also among the candidates for participation in pairs.
The Russian side must send the final list to the ITF by June 19.
Paris will host the Olympic Games from July 26 to August 11. The tennis tournament will be held on clay courts.

Russian tennis player Diana Schneider reached the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide.
Ninth seeded Schneider won in the second round over Katerina Sinyakova from the Czech Republic in three sets – 6:1, 2:6, 7:5. The duration of the match was 1 hour 54 minutes.
In the quarterfinals, the Russian will play with the winner of the match Yulia Putintseva (Kazakhstan) – Emma Navarro (USA, 6).

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina After winning the WTA tournament in Auckland, she shared an emotional post on social networks.
