Kasatkina climbs to 12th place in updated WTA rankings, Schneider debuts in top 30

Russian Daria Kasatkina has risen two positions in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, an updated version of which has been published on the organization’s website.
On Saturday, 27-year-old Kasatkina won the WTA tournament in Eastbourne. The Russian tennis player defeated Canada’s Leyla Fernandez 6-3, 6-4 in the final match and won the seventh singles title of her career. Kasatkina moved up from 14th to 12th place in the rankings.
Another Russian, Diana Schneider, who won the WTA 500 tournament in Bad Homburg, Germany, over the weekend, has jumped 17 positions to her highest ranking of 30th.
Iga Swiatek from Poland remains the leader of the WTA rankings. American Cori Gauff is behind her, and the top three is rounded out by Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus.

Snigur reaches Australian Open 2026 qualifying final ahead of schedule
Ukrainian tennis player Daria Snigur (WTA 136) reached the final qualifiers at the 2026 Australian Open.
Ukrainians passed the second round of the election Carson Brenstein (Canada, WTA 179). Carson could not finish the match by giving up the fight in the middle of the second set.

Brenstein withdrew due to problems with his right shoulder. Daria had her first head-to-head encounter with Carson.
Snigur started the Australian Open qualifying round by defeating Katarzyna Kawa. In the final qualifying round, Daria will compete with eighth-placed Alexandra Sasnovich.
Snigur became the third Ukrainian to make it to the finals in the AO-2026 qualifier. Previously, this was done by Yulia Starodubtseva and Angelina Kalinina.
Snigur competed in the Australian Major qualifiers for the third year in a row. Qualified for the main draw in 2024 and 2025.

Diana Schneider reached the quarterfinals of the tournament in Adelaide
Russian tennis player Diana Schneider reached the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide.
Ninth seeded Schneider won in the second round over Katerina Sinyakova from the Czech Republic in three sets – 6:1, 2:6, 7:5. The duration of the match was 1 hour 54 minutes.
In the quarterfinals, the Russian will play with the winner of the match Yulia Putintseva (Kazakhstan) – Emma Navarro (USA, 6).

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina After winning the WTA tournament in Auckland, she shared an emotional post on social networks.
On her Instagram account, Svitolina posted a series of atmospheric photos from the field and the awards ceremony, where she posed with the trophy, as well as footage of match moments from the final match. The photo of the Ukrainian woman holding a symbolic black jersey cup with the inscription SVITOLINA on the back attracted particular attention.

“We will definitely remember this moment; we both won the same tournament,” Elina wrote, alluding to the family’s success and the emotional value of this victory.
The victory in Auckland was a major early-season turning point for Svitolina and boosted her confidence ahead of her performance at the Australian Open.
