Former world junior No. 2 Anastasia Pivovarova said that Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev misses opportunities during matches due to excessive emotions.

Rublev has previously received disqualifications for his behavior at tournaments.

– Of course, psychology influences Rublev’s game. It is no longer permissible to behave like this. I understand that such bright personalities as Andrey cannot fully control themselves, but I really want to remind you about the situation with Roger Federer.

He once heard an opponent say after a match: “Let Federer play for two hours and he will give it all himself.” This applies to Rublev as well. He gives everything that comes into his hands. Andrey is a talented player, but because of his psychology, unfortunately, he misses opportunities.

“We need to become stronger, more confident, calmer. I think Rublev’s team knows how he can improve,” Pivovarova shared with Gazeta.Ru.

On Monday, July 1, the third Grand Slam tournament of the season, Wimbledon, began in London. In the first round, Rublev will face Argentine tennis player Francisco Comesanha, the 122nd racket in the world. The Russian athlete is in sixth place in the world rankings.
