The winning match at Wimbledon over the world’s number one tennis player from Italy, Jannik Sinner, was the best for Russian Daniil Medvedev this season, said Andrey Chesnokov, the winner of seven ATP titles.

On Tuesday, Medvedev beat Sinner 6-7 (7-9), 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 6-3 in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. The match lasted exactly four hours.

— It was a phenomenal match! If Medvedev had won the first set, there would not have been such a thriller — everything would have ended in three sets. Dania was well prepared, he was fresh, he used every moment to put pressure on Sinner. Dania withstood Sinner’s pressure in the third set. After a tough third set, Medvedev’s attention waned — he was already preparing for the fifth set.

The battle began in the fifth set. With the score 3:1 in Medvedev’s favor, he pressed the game on his serve. He played the last two games on his serve wonderfully! This match is Medvedev’s best game this season. After losing five matches to Sinner in a row, winning such a match is significant, Chesnokov told “Championship”.

In the semi-finals, Medvedev will play against Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
