Soviet and Russian tennis player Viktor Yanchuk expressed the opinion that Russian Daniil Medvedev is ready to compete with Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-final match of Wimbledon.
Medvedev will play Alcaraz on Friday, starting at 15:30 (Moscow time).
— In the semifinal Medvedev – Alcaraz are about equal in strength, although the tennis players are different in their playing style. Alcaraz is very fast, moves around the court, gets different balls, sometimes makes very strong hits, is more risky. Daniil is more stable and restrained. Therefore, Medvedev will score points due to Alcaraz’s mistakes, but sometimes due to his active actions: hits, good serves. The game will be equal, because Daniil has probably learned from previous meetings.
The match with Sinner was difficult, but there were still two days to recover. I think that’s enough, Daniil is ready for Alcaraz, – Yanchuk told “Championship”.
